The BIG SIGNAL Balun 2:1 – 300 W is a high-performance current balun with a 2:1 impedance transformation ratio, designed to provide the proper transition between a 50-ohm unbalanced coaxial feed line and a balanced antenna or driven element with an impedance close to 112 Ohms.
In addition to providing impedance transformation, its current-balun configuration promotes a balanced current distribution between both sides of the driven element and helps limit common-mode currents that may flow along the outside surface of the coaxial cable shield.
