Advantages of choosing a cubical quad antenna in VHF over a traditional Yagi:
- Full-wavelength elements, ensuring maximum performance and efficiency.
- More gain in less boom length compared to a Yagi of the same size.
- Significant noise reduction. Being a closed antenna allows you to reduce QRN and urban noise, significantly improving the reception quality of extremely weak signals in the band.
- Less affected by polarization cross or change compared to a traditional Yagi. This translates to less QSB, fading, or signal loss when receiving signals with different polarizations, making it ideal for satellite or point-to-point communications.
- High selectivity with excellent sidelobe and backlobe suppression, further reducing unwanted noise in the rejection directions.
